Analyse and track your emails with folk's messaging tool

Updated yesterday

Folk's messaging analytics can reveal which messages are most effective in driving engagement or achieving desired outcomes, helping your business refine your communication strategies and allowing for more targeted and personalized messaging.

Message inbox analytics

Get an overview of all your messages in folk, including drafts, in-review, and sent emails for single and bulk emails, including sequences.

Go to the 'Messages' section on the top left to see the list of all the emails you have created in folk, and the following for each email:

  • Subject: the subject line of your email

  • Group: the group your email was sent to

  • From: the email sender

  • Status: draft, in review and sent

  • Analytics: sent, recipients, opened, clicked, replied and bounced

Message analytics bar

First, click on the relevant email in your messaging centre. Once opened up, at the top of the email will be a selection of different analytics displaying the percentage (and number) of emails for each section:

  • Sent = emails sent successfully from our email server, Sendgrid (this excludes CC and BCC emails). Please note that this does not necessarily mean it has been delivered to the recipient. In some cases, recipient mailboxes do not acknowledge reception of messages

  • Not Sent = unsent emails (this includes unsubscribed and invalid emails)

  • Read = sent + opened

  • Unread = sent + unopened

  • Replied = replied (replies will appear in your email provider inbox, not folk. Please also note that replies are tracked only if the email (same as sender) is connected to folk)

  • Clicked = sent + read + clicked the link inside the email

  • Not clicked = sent + not bounced + read + not clicked the link inside the email

  • Bounced = sent + bounced

Recipient activity

The image above shows a highlighted box with the recipient's activity for this email.

Recipient activity for any email includes:

  • Date received

  • Date opened

  • Date clicked

Remove pixel tracking

By default, all campaigns sent from folk are tracked to monitor analytics on your messages (like open rates & click rates).

However, you can decide to turn off the tracking. It will apply to all the sent campaigns from the workspace.

Removing the pixel tracking , can improve the deliverability of your emails.

By turning off the tracking, we will not track open & click rates anymore. We'll only track the sent & reply rates.

To turn off tracking, go to your Settings > Senders and unselect the tracking option:

Why are my emails bouncing?

There are a few reasons why your emails are bouncing, which will appear in a yellow banner when selecting an email address in the bounce folder:

  • The email bounced because of a technical issue. Please check that your sender email address is valid and verified.

  • The recipient email address is not valid.

  • The email bounced because the recipient mailbox is unavailable.

  • The email bounced because of an unclassified reason.

  • The email bounced because of an unclassified reason.

❗️Please note: Even if a recipient's email is bounced, it will be classified as 'sent' from folk but appear in the 'Bounced' folder. This means it will cost you a message from your monthly message allowance. To avoid this, we suggest you remove recipients from your campaigns where you know they previously bounced. This can be done by creating a separate view in your group for bounced emails or following the steps here when you come to the review stage before sending your message.
