To send emails from folk, simply connect your Google account as a Sender and start sending messages through folk using your Gmail acount.
Set up your Sender
First go to your Settings, in the Senders section and click New Sender.
Select your preferred Sender type: Gmail sender. Note that you can also set up a custom sender, more infos here.
Go through the Google authentification to connect your account (it can be a personal email @gmail.com or a Google workspace email). If you have an Outlook domain, please connect a custom sender.
On the Google permission page make sure to accept the permission "Send on your behalf"
And that's it, your account is connected and you're set up to start sending emails from folk through your Google account.
Please note, that when connecting your Gmail sender, if you accept all the permissions on the Google permission page, it will also connect your email to folk to sync contacts & interactions (in the Accounts section).
Gmail sender benefits & limitations
By connecting your Google account as a Sender, you can start sending emails from folk in minutes without the complexity of technical configuration.
You'll also be able to track sent emails from folk, in your sent inbox in Gmail.
However, there are some limitations to take into consideration when sending from Gmail:
You can send a maximum of 125 emails per day, if you're sending from a personal email (@gmail.com)
You can send a maximum of 500 emails per day, if you're sending from a Google workspace account
We'll track replies (your email account need to be synced to folk, more infos here). We won't track other analytics for emails sent from Gmail (opens, clicks & bounces won't be tracked)
You cannot send email sequences
Important: before your start sending emails from your Google account, please make sure to read deliverability best practices here. So that you don't harm your domain reputation.
Considerations
You cannot send from both a Custom domain and Gmail sender - you need to pick your preferred option first. If you decide later that you want to use a custom sender, simply delete your Gmail sender and add your custom sender instead. If you were already using a Custom domain, delete it and then add your Gmail Sender.
