You can connect your WhatsApp account to folk to sync your contacts and conversations.
How to connect your WhatsApp account
Go to Settings > Accounts
Click Connect WhatsApp. You can connect multiple accounts based on your plan limits. You can connect WhatsApp & WhatsApp Business.
Scan the QR code:
Open WhatsApp on your phone.
Go to Settings > Linked devices.
Tap Link device and scan the QR code on folk. Keep WhatsApp open on your phone during syncing.
Once connected, folk appears as a new device in your WhatsApp.
Personal WhatsApp allows up to 4 connected devices.
WhatsApp Business allows up to 10 connected devices.
Which information will be synchronized?
Contacts: folk imports all contacts from your phone linked to a WhatsApp account, even if you haven't started a conversation with them yet.
Interactions: folk syncs direct conversations from WhatsApp, including the recipient’s name, conversation threads, and timestamps.
folk automatically deduplicates contacts based on first name, last name, email, and/or phone number. If an imported contact shares the same phone number and first name as an existing contact, they'll be merged. More details here.
When does folk synchronize the contacts?
Contacts are synced in real-time. New contacts become available immediately, searchable, and private by default (until added to shared groups).
Interactions are also synced in real-time, appearing immediately on your contacts' profiles.
What data is imported exactly from WhatsApp?
Contacts: All contacts from your phone whose numbers are linked to a WhatsApp account.
Interactions: Conversation threads you're having with your WhatsApp contacts.
Check your contacts have correctly formatted phone numbers in folk (including country prefix, e.g., +33).
Only direct conversations are imported (group conversations, communities, and broadcast messages are not included).
Only the last 12 months of conversation history will be synced.
Files, media, events, polls and audio messages are not supported. You’ll see a label indicating media was shared, but you won’t be able to access it directly in folk.
WhatsApp call interactions are not supported.
Smart fields such as My last interaction and Strongest connection will update automatically based on your WhatsApp interactions.
Share my interactions with my teammates
By default, all your interactions (WhatsApp conversations) are private. You can change this and share interactions with your workspace by choosing:
Activity only: Logs interaction date and recipient’s name without conversation content. This is useful to share with your teammates that the conversation happened without sharing access to the content.
Full access: Shares everything, including conversation content. Your teammates will see the full interaction.
Quick actions
Add a WhatsApp phone number to a contact profile to quickly open their WhatsApp profile for chats or calls.
From a WhatsApp interaction on folk, quickly jump to the WhatsApp conversation.
Remove/disconnect your accountsTo remove WhatsApp from folk
To remove WhatsApp from folk:
Go to folk > Settings > Accounts, click the three dots next to your WhatsApp account, and select Remove.
Alternatively, open WhatsApp on your phone, navigate to Settings > Linked devices, and remove the folk device.
Removing your account deletes imported conversations but keeps the imported contacts.
Note: If you switch phones, WhatsApp disconnects all linked devices (including folk). You’ll need to reconnect WhatsApp to your folk account.
Pricing
Our WhatsApp integration is supported both in the Standard and Premium plan.
Standard plan: 1 synced account per member (connecting WhatsApp means you can't connect email simultaneously).
Premium plan: Up to 5 synced accounts per member, allowing simultaneous connections of multiple WhatsApp and email accounts.
Considerations
folk won't import conversations with contacts that are blocked or archived.
