Several folk features use AI to help you work faster — drafting follow-ups, running workflows, filling fields, and recapping conversations. Some of these features process your conversational data (e.g. email and WhatsApp messages). This article explains the principles that apply to all of them.
How your data is handled
These guarantees hold across folk's AI features and every supported channel:
No personal AI account required. All AI processing runs through folk's own managed integration. You don't need a personal ChatGPT or OpenAI account.
folk controls each request. folk triggers the analysis and sends only the specific content required for that task. The AI provider has no access to your inbox or message history — only to the limited content included in each request.
Targeted, not bulk. AI features process only the specific conversations or records relevant to the task. They do not scan your entire inbox or message history.
Encrypted. Data is encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest within folk's infrastructure.
Never used for training. Your data is not used to train any large language models (LLMs).
Possible to opt-out. You can turn-off these features if needed.
