Custom object & deals (beta)

Manage deals, opportunities, projects, events and much more

Updated over a week ago

We're introducing a new object in folk, in addition to People and Companies, it is now possible to create Custom Objects.

Custom object can be used for multiple use cases:

  • Tracking opportunities/deals in your sales pipeline

  • Tracking events for your guest lists and invitation pipeline

  • Tracking projects with your partners, freelancers etc...

  • Tracking products in your sales pipeline

How to use custom object

You can create custom objects in your people & company table views.
A custom object can be linked to both people & companies, and the same object can be linked to multiple people and/or companies.

Each custom object has its own object's profile.

On their profiles, you can add custom fields (only select & text fields for now), to add the relevant data on each object (for instance for a deal, you might want to add: Status, Description, Value, Priority etc...)

You can create pipeline views to track your custom objects.

How to create custom objects

  1. Open your group and go to your table view (people view or company view)

  2. Click the "+" column on the right side

  3. Select Deals if you want to create opportunities, or select custom object if you want to create your own object (event, product, project etc...)

  4. Rename the column the way you want

  5. Create and link opportunities to your contacts (people or companies)

You can also create objects from a pipeline view of objects by clicking "Create" in the view:

How to update custom objects' profiles

Once you've created a custom object, you'll be able to add custom fields to this object to track the relevant data about this object.

Just click on the object, to open its profile. From the object's profile, you can create custom fields to track the relevant data.

For instance you can add a Status, description, price and owner. We support for now select, date, member, text and number custom fields:

On the object profile, you can also check which people & companies are attached to this object and link more if needed.

How to create a pipeline of custom objects

Once you've created and linked your objects to your contacts, you can create a dedicated pipeline view to track them in your workflows.

Just click New view in your group and then select object + pipeline view.
