How to create a contact in another group in folk after a certain trigger?

This automation lets you create a person in one folk group based on an action completed in another group.

For example, when a deal is marked as Closed in your sales pipeline, the associated person can automatically be added to your Current customers group.

How to set it up

1. Trigger: Person custom field updated

In Zapier, select the folk trigger Person Custom Field Updated.

Configure:

  • The source group, such as your sales pipeline

  • The custom field to monitor, such as Status

  • The value that should trigger the automation, such as Closed

You can trigger the automation for one specific value or whenever the field is updated.

2. Retrieve the person's information

Add the folk action Get a Person.

This step retrieves the person's complete information, which you can then reuse in the next action.

3. Create the person in another group

Add the folk action Create a Person and select the destination group, such as Current customers.

Map the information retrieved in the previous step, including:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Any other relevant information

Once activated, the Zap will automatically create the person in the destination group whenever the selected condition is met.
